• Homework is listed below.  Dates given are the dates the homework was assigned.  Homework is due  before or at the beginning of  our next Block meeting.  Follow directions and always do your best!! NO STUDENT WILL USE AN ONLINE TRANSLATOR FOR ANY WORK DONE FOR FRENCH CLASS. STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO DO THEIR OWN WORK USING THE RESOURCES PROVIDED BY THE TEACHER. Submit assignments in a Google Doc on Google Classroom.  If you have questions e-mail Mme Gauthier @ kathleen.gauthier@frsd.us   and I will answer as soon as I can.  If you have late work to turn in due to absence from school then e-mail the work to kathleen.gauthier@frsd.us for credit.     Homework Expectations,  MP 2
    Students are expected to submit completed homework on time  before or at the beginning of  our next block meeting.  Submit homework as indicated in the homework directions.Consequence is a grade of zero in Genesis.  Turn in homework to me at  kathleen.gauthier@frsd.us  if it is late because you are absent due to illness or other parental excuse.  You have one extra A- or B-day to turn in homework if you are absent due to illness or other parental excuse. Students are expected to do their own work.  Use of an online translator is not permitted.
    Expectations for Class Participation in French class;
    In French class students will do what they  are supposed to do when they are supposed to do it.  For example, follow directions,  submit homework on time, participate in classroom activities, respect yourself, others, and all property. Make good choices- always !!

     le 3 et le 6 jan. - Grades 8 et 7:  Go to the website of Mme Gauthier.  Click on the black band on the left of the home page.  Click on << Qu'est-ce que tu aimes faire?>>  rappe by Canadian John de Mado.    Listen to the rappe twice.  The second time  rappe along to the refrain ( Qu'est-ce que tu aimes faire?)  aloud. Invite your family members to join in !!

    le 7 et le 8 jan.- Gr. 8 et 7: Go to the website of Mme Gauthier. Click on the black band on the left of the home page.  Click on <<Salut!>> rappe by Canadian artist John de Mado. Listen to the rappe three times. Sway, hum, and sing along.  Bon courage !!!!!
    le 9 et le 10 jan.- << Les virelangues>> Gr. 7 et 8- Make up 5 tongue-twisters in French using alliteration.  Each virelangue will have 5 words.  The first letter of each of the 5 words will be the same consonant. Exemple: papier, panier, piano, pendant, parfait. 
    You may use your online text book to find words that begin with the same consonant. Post your 5 virelangues on the Google Classroom homework page.  This work will be graded in Genesis.

    Review and Reflect MP 1: Grades 7 et 8:  Please note: This assignment will be graded in Genesis.  The expectation is that the work will be written by the student in their own words.  Students will write in complete English sentences using capital letters and punctuation as appropriate.  Students will use all grammar rules that they have learned in their Language Arts classes.  
    Review all the French work you have done for Unit 5 (Grade 8) and Unit 1 (Grade 7) in Google Classroom. Reflect on the progress you have made in your learning skills; reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Write 12 sentences in English telling how well you have been doing with your French learning assignments. You may include the following information;
    1.) What facts have you learned from the online lessons we have covered?
    2.) What new vocabulary have you learned from all the lessons we have covered?
    3.)  How well did you pronounce the French work ( les questions, oral dialogues, les virelangues, weather report) ?
    4.) About how much time did you spend on each homework assignment (les devoirs)?
    5.)  How well did you do writing and presenting the French dialogues and weather report?  
    6.)  Is your notebook neat and complete with dates and titles?
    7.) How well did you do on the "septembre," "octobre," "la rentree," et "L'Action de Graces" word searches and sentences?
    8.) How well did you do using the French Free Rice site? 
    9.)  How well did you do with the numbers review ( page R-6 Gr. 7 et page R-7 Gr. 8)?
    10.)  Name one fact  you learned from the  current<<Bonjour>> magazine.
    11.) Name one fact you learned from the current <<Allons-y>>magazine. 
    12.) How well did you do with the written and oral work for "Parlons francais= Let's Speak French" assignments?

    le 11 et le 12 fev.- Grade 7- Go to Google Classroom, Unit 3, p. 22. Read the culture sections about the Statue of Liberty et la Tour Eiffel.  Answer questions 1-5 in your French notebook. Grade 8- Go to Google Classroom, Unit 7, p.11. "J'ai beaucoup de courses a faire" (red writing). Translate to English au cahier.
    le 13 et le 18 fev.-Grade 7- Unit 3, p. 22 Re-read the culture section about the Statue of Liberty et la Tour Eiffel. Answer  questions 6-11 au cahier.  Grade 8-Unit 7, p. 11, "J'ai beaucoup de courses a faire." Section B. Write the numbers 1- 6 au cahier. Next to each number write the letter that represents the activity in chronological order.   Then write the name of the activity next to the letter you wrote. 
    le 19 et le 20 fev.-Grades 7 et 8-  Slowly scroll through Online Textbook Unit 3 ( Grade 7) or Unit 7 (Grade 8) for 7 minutes.  In a Google Doc type in English 3 concepts that we will learn.  Post on the Google Classroom Page.     le 21 et le 24 fev.- Grade 7: Unit 3, p. 27, G.  Re-read the dialogue. Answer the 6 questions in  complete English sentences in your cahier.
    Gr. 8: Unit 7, p. 8. Click the top red arrow a gauche. Read about the first 11 arrondissments. In your notebook write down the names of the 2 arrondissments a teen would most like to visit.  Write 2 sentences for each arrondissment ( a total of 4 sentences).

    le 11 et le 12 mars- Gr. 8-  Online Text Book, Unit. 7, p. 13. "Activite-Le bon endroit"  Read silently the story about la famille Latellier twice. Mentally fill in the blanks with choices from the yellow section.  Use context clues.
    Gr. 7- Online Text Book, Unit 3, p.8- Read the culture presentations on p. 8. Pretend you are the teacher. Make up 4 good questions in English about the information on p. 8. Write the questions au cahier francais.
    le 13 et le 17 mars- Gr. 8 Online Text Book, Unit 7, p. 10 (en bas) Click on the photo of the dog. Click on the red arrow, "Chez le coiffeur." Listen to this story twice.
